Rakesh Roshan rethinks on Krrish sequel after Avatar.

It looks like James Cameron's "Avatar" has affected Bollywood in unexpected ways.

Director Rakesh Roshan is having second thoughts about making the sequel to "Krrish" after watching the Hollywood sci-fi saga. However, he thinks it is possible to create effects on par with Hollywood.

"I saw the film ('Avatar') in Los Angeles. And it certainly made me sit up and re-think about 'Krrish'. But I don't think it is impossible to create effects on par with Hollywood. We need to budget the sequel intelligently," he said.

As far as starting Krrish's sequel goes, Roshan senior admits there's no immediate chance of it taking off. "I am not even thinking of directing my own film until our production 'Kites' is released May 14. Only then will I seriously start planning my directorial project. For now, the next film I direct is Krrish's sequel. But it may change if I'm unhappy with the script."

What the patriarch of the Roshan Empire leaves unsaid is that he and son Hrithik Roshan sat together and discussed the feasibility of doing a lavish big budget film in the light of "Avatar" and other Hollywood extravaganzas dubbed in Hindi.

Hrithik has made it clear to his father that there's no point in doing a Hollywood style special effects film unless there's scope and space for the 'desi' counterpart to make an impact at the box office.

Says a source: "Hrithik is not sure about the feasibility of the Krrish series any more. Not after James Cameron's 'Avatar'.

He wants the project to go through a budgetary scrutiny to see whether they can create effects comparable with Hollywood's 'Avatar' and '2012'.

Otherwise what is the point?"

Bollywood Bold Actor Sanjay Dutt quits as SP general secretary.

Following his mentor Amar Singh, Sanjay Dutt tonight resigned as the General Secretarty of Samajwadi Party claiming he was hurt by the treatment meted out to his "elder brother" by certain leaders of the party.

"When the Supreme Court did not give me chance to contest Lok Sabha elections, Amar Singh made me the general secretary of the party. He had said both of us will work for the party from the same position," Dutt told a hurriedly-called press conference here.

"If he is no more the General Secretary, I am also quitting the post today," Dutt said.

He, however, said he would remain in the party as long as Amar Singh is there.

He said despite slogging for the party in his poor health condition, certain leaders of SP mistreated Singh.

John Abraham Builds Houses with 'Habitat for Humanity'.

Bollywood Hunk Hot Bold Actor John Abraham has it all; good looks and a good heart, and what more can we ask for? We already knew that John is a body builder, but now the "Dostana" star has become a house builder!

John has been working with the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project "Habitat for Humanity," which helps build and repair over 100 homes along the Mekong River in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Cambodia and Laos.

For the "New York" star, working for the former U.S. president and Nobel Peace Prize laureate’s charity and helping people in need is a cause close to his heart.

"It’s great being part of the building process. I find this really special. And I think it’s a great model for other organizations," he told The Times of India.

Every year, the charity project chooses one city where volunteers gather for one week to help out. Other Bollywood volunteers include "3 Idiots" actor R. Madhavan, talk show hostess and actress Pooja Bedi, and "Aladin" star Jacqueline Fernandez.

Over the years, Bollywood Actor Salman Khan and David Dhawan have been known as one of the most successful actor-director jodis in Bollywood. Together they have given hits such as Partner, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Biwi No 1 and Judwaa. However, some cracks have appeared in their relationship. Buzz is that Salman has refused to let producer Sajid Nadiadwala get David to direct the remake of the South film Kick, titled Sanki in Hindi, starring him in the main lead.

A source reveals, “Sajid has got the rights of the Telugu super hit Kick and has finalised Salman to star in it. Sajid spoke to David Dhawan to direct the film but when Salman heard that David was being considered, he flatly refused to be a part of Sajid’s film. He is not keen to work with David and wants somebody else to direct the remake.”

The source continues, “Salman is upset with David for several reasons. He really wanted Partner 2 to take off soon but there is no sign of the film from David’s end. On the contrary, David went ahead to direct Hook Ya Crook with Bollywood Actor John Abraham, who Salman can’t stand.” Sajid Nadiadwala says, “I acquired the rights of the film a month back. Salman will be playing the lead. I am still in the scripting process and have yet to finalize other details.” When asked if David will direct the remake, Sajid says, “I haven’t finalized anything. David is obviously the first name that comes to mind but I haven’t spoken to him as such.” When asked about Salman refusing to have David on board, Sajid says, “I don’t speak to Salman about my directors. It is untrue and purely a rumor. David and Salman is a winning Jodi and have given so many hits together. David is a veteran director and it is in bad taste if someone says that they are having problems.”

David says, “Sajid hasn’t mentioned anything about directing any film.” When asked about Salman not wanting to work with him and wanting some other director instead, David says, “I haven’t even received a call from Sajid about this. It’s best if you speak to Sajid to get all the information.”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) invites Aamir Khan for 'Paa' premiere.

Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for the premiere of his Bollywood Upcoming film movie 'Paa' and has invited Aamir Khan for the grand event here.

The 67-year-old actor met Khan at his home 'Prateeksha' on Sunday and the two discussed their upcoming movies --'Paa' and '3 Idiots'.

"Aamir dropped by yesterday in the morning at my invitation and it was lovely to spend time with him, discuss the film, show him the promo, receive his appreciation, talk about his own film and invite him for the premiere," Bachchan wrote in his blog.

Khan is awaiting the release of '3 Idiots', which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25 2009. Both the stars also discussed the promotional strategies for the films.
