Their new friendship led the actress fetch a role in an untitled movie opposite Salman Khan.
The film is a Hindi remake of Mahesh Manjerkar’s Marathi film Mee Shivajiarje Bhosle Boltoy.

“I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now.Koi cheez tootati hain toh isliye kyonki ya toh different ways chali gayi hain, ya ek shakhs ki growth nahin hui, ya ek ne kuch aur path chun liya hai, ya sensibility samajh mein nahi aati, ya thinking galat ho gayi hain (A relationship breaks when it strays off in different directions, or when one of the two has stopped growing, or when the other person has chosen a different path, or when the thinking has got distorted). As per Latest Bollywood Interviews, she said that, "We are going to do 'Partner 2' now. We have decided the script. We have decided everything about the film. After Dabangg, we want to start Partner 2. Everyone keeps telling us sequels ka zamana hai. Look how well the sequels to Golmaal have done! Partner is our production house's proudest brand name. We can't be careless with it. The core team of Partner is mine and Govinda. The story will now move forward with them.”
